Although Josh was on-call and had to work quite a bit, we had such a fun weekend with family and friends.
On Sunday the 4th, we went to church and heard this amazing, and very challenging sermon. Then, Camryn and I headed home for lunch and naps, while Josh ran to see a few patients. Later that afternoon, we headed over to our friend's house for some fun, food & fireworks. Kristen and her sweet little boy, Jake, are in Playgroup with Camryn and I and we've been wanting to get our families together so the boys could get to know each other as well. Such a sweet family and so fun to see Camryn and Jake play together. At first, they fought like siblings, but then after they each established their boundaries (just a little scratching and slapping) :), they had a blast chasing each other around the house and playing together. After a delicious dinner we headed out to shoot off a few fireworks. Okay, so they weren't anything big, we were in the city, but hey, they were BIG to the kiddos. We had fun with Sparklers, Googley Eyes, Ground Bloom Flowers and a Fountain. So, Jake LOVED the fireworks, but Camryn was definitely not as fond of them. We started out with the tame Sparklers, but as we continued with the fireworks display, she became less and less sure of them and actually became quite terrified. Poor Girl! We had a feeling that this might be the case with her; from previous experience we knew she wasn't a fan of LOUD noises (helium balloons being blown up) nor BRIGHT lights (the hibachi grill cooking experience). :) Here's a few pics of our fun evening. Thanks so much Cliff and Kristen for having us over. We had a great time!

See what I mean, definitely NOT loving the fireworks. :)
Then, on Monday, the 5th, we had another celebration. :) My parents came over to hit the sales at the Allen Outlet Mall and to grab lunch at the new Purple Cow in Fairview-YUM! Later that day, Josh's family joined us for dinner as well, which was super fun! Mom was so sweet and said that she wanted to take care of the meal, so she brought everything and used our kitchen. So sweet! She made a fabulous meal including: appetizers-her famous homemade onion rings and chicken wings, ribs, baked potatoes, salad and her yummy strawberry pie for dessert. Thanks so much Mom. It was all so yummy and so sweet of you to take care of it all. You're welcome to come over any night and make dinner. :) Then after dinner, we headed outside to shoot off a few remaining fireworks that we saved from the night before. We wanted our parents to see how much Camryn LOVED them. :) Thanks everyone for coming over. It was a fun night!
