Tears from Camryn & Mommy
Okay, today was a sad day. Today was the first day that Camryn cried when I dropped her off at the nursery. :( I guess she's entering the separation anxiety phase at only 7 and a half months old. Yikes!
She had just woken up from taking a quick cat nap in the car, so she definitely was not herself, but boy did she let me know that she wasn't happy with me handing her over to some stranger. Now the nursery workers at our church are the sweetest ladies ever, but I guess she wasn't so sure. It just about broke my heart hearing her cry and to see her holding her arms out to me. But I did what I was supposed to, and left. :( Boy was it tough. So, what did I do next? I immediately went to my bible study small group and started balling as I told my other mommy friends all about it. Sad, I know. They were very sweet though, giving me hugs and sympathy. Just what I was needing. Thanks Casey and Erika. :) So, when my friend Lisa, came into the room a few minutes later, after dropping off her sweet little man, Jack, I was anxious to ask her how Camryn was doing. She told me that she was playing and doing just fine, of course. :)
All those tears for nothing, for both of us, that is. :)

Christmas Morning
It was so fun to wake-up Christmas morning, together as a family of (3), at OUR house, for the first time. That morning, we woke up, bright and early, Josh started his coffee brewing and we anxiously waited for Camryn to wake-up. When she finally did, we quickly took her to see the white Christmas that was outside and of course the presents under the tree. :)
I loved seeing (3) stockings hung on our fireplace this year. So much to be thankful for.
Our White Christmas
Camryn in the SNOW!
Now, she'd seen snow before, but the last time it certainly wasn't this much and this time, she actually got to play in it. After a minute or so of her hand in the freezing cold snow, she started crying. Poor thing. :(

Camryn's gift from "Santa". A Ball Popper. We thought this toy looked like tons of fun, but have since changed our minds. It is obnoxiously loud and the balls don't exactly pop straight up and back down. They end up under the sofa and across the room. At least Camryn likes it. :)
Camryn enjoying the wrapping a little more than the toys. :)
More gifts.
Camryn and her stocking
Camryn and her monogrammed lovie. So cute!

My gifts
Josh's gifts
Most importantly, EVERYONE's gift from God. JESUS! We desperately, want Camryn to understand the TRUE meaning of Christmas, and we can't wait to show her that through many fun ways in the years to come. But for this year, we just decided to sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and let her place him in his manger. Which of course she did, reluctantly, after trying to eat him. :)

Christmas Eve with BOTH families! :)
A Christmas post?! Yes, I am a little behind, mainly due to our trip to St. Lucia (pics to come), but how could I miss posting pics of Camryn's first Christmas? :)
Well, this Christmas Eve was extra special, and not only because it was Camryn's first, but also because we had both of our families together. Everyone except for Josh's sister, Bethany, and her family. :(
We had planned on attending the Christmas Eve service at our church, and even thought we were in the middle of an "Arctic Blast" (as the news was calling it :), we decided to not let that stop us. Unfortunately, Josh had to work Christmas Eve, so he could have off Christmas Day, so he didn't make it until the very end of the service during the candelighting. I'm so glad that he didn't miss it though, it was such an amazing sight to see. A pitch black auditorium, except for the thousands of candles shinning brightly as we sang songs, declaring and praising our Lord and Savior. So cool!
So, after the service, we came back to our house for our traditional Mexican Fiesta (Chicken Enchiladas and ALL the fixings) and of course some visiting. :) It was so fun to have BOTH of our families together. We are so thankful that they were willing to brave the weather and not miss this opportunity to be together, even though it took them twice as long to get home. :) Thanks guys, it meant a lot.

Camryn's ornament. Ever since Josh and I were married, we've always given each other an ornament for Christmas, representing that year. Of course, Camryn gets to join in on the fun now.

Christmas with the Pates-2009
We celebrated Christmas with my family the week before Christmas this year. Derek and Anne came down from Oklahoma and Danette and George were with us via Skype. We had a wonderful time.
Our little family of (3)
Dani, George & of course Zack, joining us for opening gifts via Skype
Josh's gift from Dani-A book all about "Opposites". Of course, she had to add her own interpretation (see pics). Too funny. :0 They have such a love/hate relationship.
Camryn playing with her new bracelet from Auntie Anne. She loves the shiny stuff already. :)
Camryn with all of her fun presents. Thanks everyone.
Camryn chewing on, I mean, loving on her new baby from Mimi and Poppa. :)
Camryn listening to Poppa read the Christmas Story. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen. She listened so intently to the WHOLE story. So sweet.
See.
Mom and I with our little elf. :)

Happy New Year!
I'm still working on our Christmas post, but just wanted to share what our New Year's Eve was like this year. My how times have changed. :)
Josh and I enjoyed a bottle of wine while curled up on the couch watching a movie. I snoozed a little mid-evening, but surprisingly made it until midnight to bring in the New Year.
Happy New Year!
And here's our Sweet Chunk, sound asleep . . . that is until the neighborhood fireworks woke her up. :(
