Camryn's BFF's

Meet Doggie and Bunny. Camryn's Best Friends. She LOVES these sweet little stuffed animals SO MUCH.

Bunny came in her Easter Basket this past year from Josh and I, or should I say "The Easter Bunny". :) When she began crawling, she grabbed Bunny by the ears and would take him with her everywhere she went. And Doggie, was actually mine. Josh gave him to me for Valentine's Day, back when we started dating in College. :) Doggie had been in a box in our closet, covered with dust, and a month or so ago, Camryn came across him and thought he needed a new home, in her arms. It was LOVE at first sight. :) So, now, Doggie and Bunny go everywhere with her. She takes them in the car, to friend's houses, and has even tried to take them in the bath with her as well. So, needless to say, they've become a part of the family. :)

Happy Grandparent's Day 2010!

Although Grandparent's Day was several weeks ago, I just had to share Camryn's gift to her Grandparents.

A sweet little, framed silhouette (I totally stole the idea from someone else's BLOG).

So much fun though. Camryn even finger painted the background, with a little help from Mommy of course. :)

I can't wait to do more art projects with her. My only regret is that I didn't make one for us. :(

Talking, Talking, Talking

Little Miss Camryn has been talking up a storm lately. This past month, words and sounds have been clicking with her and she'll try just about any word we throw at her. It's so fun! And needless to say, she puts her little twist on each word (especially since she's only 15 months old), but it is the cutest thing. I've tried several times to get her on video, but she gets camera shy. :( We'll keep trying, but until then, here's a little look at her vocabulary and the order in which they appeared.

Walking Update!

So this past month Camryn has not only started walking, but she's also adapted her OWN walk. The Frankenstein Walk as Josh and I like to call it. You'll see what we mean below. :) She's now walking, 90% of the time and can also stand-up unassisted. Yea! The standing-up was definitely a huge milestone. Since she's been walking this past month, she's mainly just been walking from person to person, furniture to furniture or walker to walker. Or, she would sit in the middle of the room, yelling "Up!", asking for assistance to help stand-up. But, just today, she got the hang of it. And let me just tell you, she was PROUD of herself. So cute! Check it out.

Camryn's Sign Language

Just before Camryn turned 1 year old, we began working with her on baby sign language. I have some friends that taught their little ones and I saw how helpful those communication tools were during the 12-24 months when they're wanting to communicate, but don't quite have the complete vocabulary yet. So, we borrowed "Baby Signing Time" from my friend Melodie (until she gave C her own copy for her b-day, thanks Mel) and away we went. At first, Camryn just loved watching the other babies on the video, but then, slowly but surely, she started picking up on it. Her first sign was "all done", quickly followed by, "more", "eat", "drink", "please" and "thank-you". Now, she's a pro and can tell us what she wants rather than fussing and crying. Most of the time that is. :) It's been sooooo helpful. Yea for Baby Sign Language! :)
