1 Month Letter & Pic

Sweet Little Pumpkin-

Happy 1 month b-day! Your daddy and I can't believe that you're 1 month old already. We love that you are awake more during the day and we cherish those moments when you are gazing into our eyes. You are so expressive and we LOVE waiting in anticipation for what funny face you will make next. We are so thankful that you are a healthy baby after such a difficult pregnancy and delivery. The Lord has definitely blessed us with a little miracle. We can't wait for you to begin smiling and are so proud that you are already rolling over. It really surprised us the first time you did on 6/25/09. We laid you down for a little "tummy time", which you weren't enjoying, so you flipped yourself right over onto your back. We thought it might have just been a one time thing, so we placed you on your tummy again and sure enough you did it 3 more times. YEA!

Camryn, you have stolen our hearts. We love you to the moon and back.

Happy 1st Father's Day!

What a special day this was. Josh's first Father's Day!

Camryn and I started out the day by making Josh, Monkey Bread for breakfast. Yummy! Then, we showered him with a few gifts. Camryn gave him this sweet frame that we will place a picture of the two of them in and I gave him tickets to a Rangers game. He definitely deserves a day off. He's been so wonderful and has been taking such good care of both Camryn and I.





Honey, I love watching you with Camryn. You are so patient and loving with her. Always giving her lots of kisses and hugs and telling her how special she is to you. You are going to be the best dad EVER.

Thank you for all you do and who you are. We love you so much!

Camryn's First Outing

When Camryn was just 2-1/2 weeks old we decided she was ready for her first outing. Boy was I ready to get out of the house. :)

We took her to get our favorite summertime treat. Shaved Ice at Bahama Buck's. YUM! We of course covered her carrier with a blanket to discourage the complete strangers from coming up and saying, can I touch your baby. :)

7 Year Anniversary!

7 years! Wow! This past year was filled with many firsts. Our first car purchase, our first home purchase and of course the birth of our first child. With our anniversary being just a few weeks after Camryn's arrival, we certainly weren't planning any big trips. My parents offered to babysit Camryn, so we took them up on the offer and enjoyed our first date night. We went to Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed a delicious dinner and of course dessert. We tried really hard to not talk about Camryn or call and check on her while we were on our date, but we didn't do very well. We just couldn't help it. We missed our little girl. :)

Camryn's Homecoming-Day 8

Finally on Sunday morning around 11am, Camryn was discharged from the hospital. Yea! Once we got home we were so excited to introduce Camryn to her house and her room (pics to come soon). She was of course asleep through the whole thing. :) Later that night we had our families over to celebrate her homecoming.

We are SO glad to have you home with us, sweet little pumpkin.

Camryn-Day 7

This was the second day of leaving Camryn in the nursery. By this point we were in survival mode and couldn't wait to get home.

Who could resist this sweet little face?


We slept when we could, even if it was sitting up in a chair waiting on Camryn to be finished with her round of antibiotics.

Camryn-Day 6

So this was our first full day of having to leave Camryn in the nursery while we stayed at the hotel. I use the word hotel very loosely, it was more like a glorified hospital room. :)

Every 2-3 hours, including through the night, Josh would wheel me through the hospital to go and feed Camryn. This was absolutely exhausting and we got very little sleep, but it was so worth to be able to spend time with her. There was a lactation room near the nursery that we were allowed to use and the nurses were all so sweet and encouraging. The only thing that really got us through was knowing we would be able to bring her home on Sunday. We couldn't wait.

Camryn-Day 5

Day 5 was quite eventful. Camryn's jaundice dropped to a safe level so they were able to take her off of the glow worm lights. YEA! I was discharged and since there were no rooms available on the post partum floor, we decided to get a room at the Baylor Hotel so we could be close to our little girl. It was definitely tough to leave her, but we did get to see her every 2-3 hours for nursing.

Camryn-Day 4

On day four Camryn was still on her jaundice lights, but was now receiving her antibiotic treatments through a new port in her foot. Little ones veins don't seem to hold out very long. The pediatrician told us that it was very likely that they would have to move the port 2-3 times for her 7 day treatment. We just couldn't keep from snuggling with our little girl though, so we took her off the lights for a little one on one time with mom and dad.

Her new port and hopefully her last. :(

We found out on day three that Camryn had Jaundice. They started her on light treatments and we quickly named her our little Glow Worm (remember the toy?)

We found out that our sweet baby girl might have an infection, so the doctors decided it would be best to start her on an IV antibiotic treatment to be safe. Poor little thing had the IV port put in her head. :(
