While We Were Gone

So, I know that you all have been wondering what Camryn did while we were in NYC, well let me just tell you, she had so much FUN! She was spoiled and loved on by both of her grandparents. :)

She started off at Mimi and Poppa's house. They took her to Starbucks, for her first, of many drinks. No, she didn't have coffee, but she did have Chocolate Milk. They said she of course LOVED it and guzzled it right down. :) Then, they headed to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. So fun! She was the cutest little ladybug and loved exploring and trying to pick up all of the pumpkins. :) And then they took her to Build-A-Bear so she could make a new friend. She of course picked out the doggie and then Mimi thought he needed a Rangers shirt in honor of her daddy's favorite team. :) The next day they went to church and then headed to meet Nana and Grandpa for the hand-off.

At Nana and Grandpa's she climbed the stairs, over and over again and mastered going down safely, all by herself, on her tummy. :) She LOVED playing outside with the balls, but her favorite thing to do was to swing on their swing set. She absolutely loves to swing and anytime they went outside, she'd make a beeline straight for the swing. :) She'd say "Weeeee" over and over again. So cute! One day, while Nana went to Bible Study, she went with Grandpa to the Mall. No, he didn't take her on a shopping spree, instead, he let her push her stroller around the Mall. You know how she loves to push things. She was in heaven. :) Then they finished up their morning by having lunch at Chick-fil-A. Definitely her favorite place to eat. :)

Thank you both SO much for taking such great care of our little girl while we were gone. We are truly blessed to have such amazing parents that live close and love to spend time with their sweet Granddaughter. :) We love y'all so much.

NYC!

So, I've always wanted to go to NYC and after a little begging, Josh conceded. :) We booked our tickets, found our babysitters (thanks so much Mimi & Poppa and Nana & Grandpa-more to come on the fun stuff they did while we were gone) and started planning our trip. We knew this wouldn't be a relaxing vacation, but we had no idea what we had gotten ourselves into. This city was HUGE and we only saw a part of if, Manhattan. There was so much to see and do and we loved every minute of it. On past vacations, one of the things we enjoy the most is exploring, well this city was perfect for that. I felt like we were on an adventure every day. From trying to figure out the subway :), to trampling through Central Park, to exploring The MET and of course venturing out and trying lots of new restaurants. We had so much fun! And Josh even admitted at the end of the trip that he loves NYC!

Enjoy our pics. And be sure to click on the slideshow below so you can see the captions. :)

Our New Names!

Camryn has been calling us "Dada" and "Momma" for the last 6 months. We love hearing her call for us by name. Most of the time, repeating it (3) times. We're not quite sure why, but that's been her thing recently. If she's excited about something, she says it (3) times in a row. Pretty cute! Anyways, I digress, so recently, with her expanding vocabulary, she's starting calling us by NEW names. For Josh, she's been calling him "Dosh", I'm sure it's because she hears me calling him that. He doesn't like it one bit, and replies, "No Sweet Chunky, it's Dada". It makes me laugh every time I hear it. And recently she's been calling me "Ma-ee". It's kind of a cross between Momma & Mommy. It's just precious and makes my heart happy every time I hear it.

Thank you Lord for this sweet blessing. She lights up our lives. :)

Family Rules & Scripture Memorization

Our church is so great about offering support and biblical guidance to us parents, trying to figure this whole parenting thing out. So, when they offered "Training Camp" a month or so ago, Josh and I jumped at the opportunity to take the class, "Training Preschool Girls". We learned so much about what discipline should look like according to the Bible, but the one thing that we really took away from the talk was that we needed to establish some family rules and to use those as our foundation in disciplining. So, we purchased these images on Etsy, which included each rule and the corresponding scripture, and printed, framed and displayed them in our house to begin using. Josh and I really desire to discipline Camryn using the scripture as our guide (check out "Don't Make Me Count to Three!"-great book) and therefore have also decided that we should strive to memorize scripture as a family. Although, Camryn is a bit young still, it won't be long. :) So, we also purchased this super fun chalk board from World Market, to display our family bible verse for the week/month.

We are just beginning this journey of discipline and have NO idea what we're doing, but we DO know that if we cling to the Lord and his scripture, he will guide us through. :)

If you interested in purchasing the Family Rules to print and display in your own home, check them out here. They're only $5. :)

2010 Summer Fun with Cousins!

Camryn and I have had SO much fun this summer with Bethany, Asher and Avery. Since Bethany was off of school for the Summer, we got together almost every week to play with the kiddos. Most weeks we swam at Nana and Grandpa's house, but we also, went to Lake Kiowa Beach, ate out at Mooyah and had fun at a few Spray Parks. We were so sad when school started back up, but we will just be looking forward to next Summer. Love y'all so much!

Lots of Matching Outfits, of course. :)

Camryn's Two Front Teeth!

Camryn's two front teeth have finally come in. Can you believe it? We're finally up to a total of (4) teeth. I was beginning to think she might have to gum her food for the rest of her life. :)
